Context Awareness Reading List

  1. Location-Based Apps
  2. Digital Geocaches
  3. Context Awareness

Location-based services, digital geocaches, and proximity interactions are previously described in context awareness research. Previous research explored the interaction between people and environmental changes.

I made a presentation to survey previous work in context awareness. This presentation considers four dimensions to analyze the use of the location variable within context-aware systems:

  • local versus global reference,
  • environmental versus device-specific responses,
  • offering of either information or commands, and
  • action taken by human versus system.

The presentation concludes with the limitations of location-based information.
