The Kinematic Templates installer will automatically download and install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 on your computer. The installer might reboot your computer.
The program is installed to Start Menu > All Programs > University of Waterloo > Kinematic Templates Drawing Application.
You may also run the program by re-downloading the application.
To change between using a mouse and graphics tablet, go to File > Options.
The program has logging enabled by default. Logging saves all mouse strokes and drawing output for every drawing, regardless of whether you save the drawing or not. In addition, history snapshots are backed up to the computer.
To change or remove the log files, go to File > Developer Options. Locate the "Log Directory" and browse to the specified directory.
The application will connect to the Internet every time the program is started to check for updates. No log files or user data is sent to our server.
Since the hosting website has been relocated to ucalgary.ca from uwaterloo.ca, you will need to reinstall the application to receive automatic updates.
The following settings are used by the application:
Variable | Possible Values | Description |
---|---|---|
logging | true, false | See section 4 |
evaluationMode | true, false | |
kinematicTemplates | on, off | Enables Kinematic Templates in the drawing palette. Used for evaluating the regular drawing tools versus the Template tools. |
pointingMode | relative, absolute, ask | See section 3 |
